Corporate Headshot Creative Process

A corporate headshot is a photo that shows the face of a person in a semi-close up. Professionals or business people normally request it. In some instances, models or actors auditioning for projects or roles also request corporate headshots for their portfolios.

Our Creative process for this specific photo shoot was very involved, from styling, posing, lighting and finding the right place to shoot, we ventured out to 3 different destination to take well over 90 Corporate headshots. Denver Colorado, Newport California and finally Los Angeles. We had some interesting challenges because of the different shooting location at one point we decided to shoot outside since the ceilings were not high enough for the set up. We managed to capture all the headshots with great results and we delivered the results the client asked for.

Here are the before and after shots as we do the post work in Lightroom and Photoshop, we decided to include more of the body to give the client the option on what to do with it.

These are raw files without any adjustments:

We worked tirelessly to deliver and go above and beyond what the client expected from us.

We did a bit of post work but overall it was delivered promptly and now they have great images for all their employees nationwide.

Creative Portrait Creative Process

At Jack Lee we pride ourselves on the approach we take towards the Creative portrait process.

Creative Portrait photography is probably the most popular genre, within the realm of the diverse world that is the art of photography. People take portraits so frequently, snapping selfies or photos of their loved ones, with mobile phones or cameras. In any case, this is pretty much what portrait photography is all about, capturing people’s faces.

This part of photography is where all the creativity resides. It waits to be unleashed by things such as knowledge and the inspiration gathered along the way, set and setting. So let’s embark on a quest that shows why creative portraits by Jack Lee are the best way to capture your creative side.

We did a Photo shoot with one of our team members to show the set up process as well as the image editing and final product phase.

First we start with several lighting options and poses:

The Raw unprocessed images are thrown in to light room and then photoshop to create different look and feel options for the client,  we use different blending modes, textures, adjustment layers and different opacity settings to create the best results possible and looks like the images bellow:

As you can see we deliver images that work for all types of content: advertising, web content, editorial prints or simple images you want just to have fun or to use as product photography.

Creative Process for Product Photo Shoot

Our Creative Process for every product photo shoot is different, we study our subject, the product and the over all mission and vision of the company.

Melt has been dedicated to bringing you the best organic beauty products and the all-natural skin care products that you love. Using only the freshest ingredients and the most alluring fragrances that transport you to another world, we wanted to communicate this message via imagery.

We shot Bath Salts, Lotions, Bath Bombs, Soaps and Essential Oils.

Product Photography - Melt Products

We had to figure out what kind of props would work best as well as what angles, which lenses, lights and setting to use. We decided to use a 135mm and a 90mm lens.

Once we figured out the light we started testing out different scenarios using plants, towels and other props to convey the feeling of being in a fresh, relaxing and rejuvenating environment.

After we shot images with various products we moved on to single product shots.

Lavender Hand Lotion:
